 The SB Arena, which is set to open in 2014, is currently being gutted and renovated.  Click on the image above to see more construction photos.



The renovated SB Arena will rotate the court 90 degrees, with permanent stands on all sides.

SB Basketball is currently sitting in first place in the AE at 16-5 (7-1) and is climbing the national polls.

Rothstein said that Tommy Brenton "has single handedly taken SB from basketball purgatory to a mid-major program that’s annually competing for a chance to go to the NCAA Tournament."

-SB Athletics announced a partnership with PMI College and Madison Sports Partnerships to develop multimedia sponsorship rights and to accelerate broad-based financial support for its programs: http://www.goseawolves.org/genrel/012313aab.html


The new partnership with PMI and MSP will bring in revenues through naming rights, multimedia sponsorships, marketing, sales, events management, communications activities, television, radio, signage, promotions, social media, endorsements, publication, hospitality, and ticket sales.

-Marisa Ingemi of In Lax We Trust reported on the first practice of the NALL's Kentucky Stickhorses, and wrote of newly acquired Vonzel Legall '11: "a strong addition on the floor as a fast paced transition man with an emphasis on offense." http://inlacrossewetrust.com/stickhorses-host-black-and-white-scrimmage-tonight/ 


Ingemi said Vonzel Legall '11 "will raise some eyebrows this winter" in the PLL.

Tom Compitello '11, originally drafted to the Boston Cannons in 2011, will reunite with former teammate Jordan McBride '11 on attack in Denver.

Babo also wrote that Jeff Tundo '13 is the "best late round grab" in the draft and is a "great assist man".

Recent graduate Kyle Belton '12 played attack in outdoor lacrosse, but has moved to defense for indoor lacrosse.


-Bob Chavez of IL Indoor listed the top 40 NLL players, putting Rhys Duch '08 at #3.  Chavez stated that Duch has "a slick stick and a nose for dynamic creation... ability to remain at or near the top of lacrosse world for years to come." http://www.ilindoor.com/2013/01/01/ilindoor-top-40-no-6-through-no-1/



Rhys Duch '08 ranks third in Washington Stealth history in career goals with 143 in only four seasons, and fifth in both assists (201) and points (344).


-Bob Chavez of IL Indoor polled the fans for the 2013 NLL MVP, and the candidates include Rhys Duch '08 and Kevin Crowley '11.  Chavez said Duch's "stickwork and nose for the goal are among the best in the game." http://www.ilindoor.com/2012/12/14/fan-poll-who-will-be-nlls-mvp-in-2013/

To start his second year in the NLL, Jordan McBride '11 scored 6G in his first two contests.

Stamp said Kevin Crowley '11 is the "focal point" of the Wings' offense in only his second NLL season.

Vonzel Legall '11, who has played for the MLL's Rochester Rattlers, was drafted into the NALL in the 13th round, 40th overall.

Jeff Tundo '13 will join newly acquired Steve Waldeck '10 on the NY Lizards this summer.  Tundo is the seventh SB alumnus drafted in the last three years.

-SB Lacrosse begins practicing on 1/9/13 for the 2013 season.  In the preseason, the team will travel down to Villanova for an exhibition game on 2/2/13.


Coach Nagle leads SB Lacrosse into the 2013 season with a home game against Fairfield.


-Greg Logan of Newsday reported on RB Miguel Maysonet being invited to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis in February.  Maysonet has also been invited to participate in the inaugural Raycom College Football All-Star Classic on 1/19 in Montgomery, Alabama and will be televised on CBS Sports Network. http://sbradiosports.blogspot.com/2013/01/miguel-maysonet-invited-to-nfl-combine.html


RB Miguel Maysonet, an alternate for the prestigious Senior Bowl on 1/26 in Mobile, Alabama, is projected to be drafted into the NFL during the fourth or fifth round next April.
