-Hooch Lacrosse announced that former SB defenseman Mike Sopko '10 has been named head coach of the Chattahoochee High School Cougars. http://www.hoochlacrosse.com/

Mike Sopko '10 anchored the SB defense from 2007 through 2010, leading the 2010 team to a 9.8 goals against average and the NCAA Quarterfinals.


-Alums are seeking players for a 35 and over team for the Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Tournament. Specifically if you are a defenseman or midfielder, please email the webmaster as soon as possible if you are interested in playing. The tournament is 8/1/12 - 8/5/12.


-Hoya Suxa of College Crosse summarized the SB Lacrosse 2012 season, analyzing strengths and weaknesses and stated that the team had: "a powerful and dangerous offense that could run with most of the country". http://www.collegecrosse.com/2012/7/30/3160878/eulogizing-the-2012-college-lacrosse-season-21-stony-brook

In 2012, SB Lacrosse ranked sixth in raw shooting percentage, scoring on 32.43% of its shots taken. The team scored a goal on nearly one third of its possessions.

In 2012, LaValle Stadium hosted its first ever national championship, the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Final Four.


-The America East reported on the 2012 Haskell Cup, which annually recognizes the strongest athletic program in the America East. In 2012, SB sports won 5 conference titles, swept the regular-season and tournament in Men’s Lacrosse and Baseball, and became the first AE program to advance to the College World Series. SB also won titles in Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Lacrosse and Women’s Tennis, the regular season title in Men’s Basketball, and was the runner-up in Men’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, and Women's Volleyball.
